Michael White, CISR, CSRM  - Senior Executive Vice President, Director of Brokerage

After graduating from the honors program at Newnan High School (Newnan, Georgia), Michael attended Georgia Southern University, where he earned bachelor's degrees in Sociology and Justice as well as a Psychology minor. Joining Apex Insurance Services in 1994, Michael has worked locally and nationally with public entity insurance programs and placements. He was promoted as a Vice President with Brown & Brown, Inc. in 2006 and is currently the Senior Executive Vice President and Director of Brokerage for Apex.  He holds insurance licenses in more than 20 states and is a licensed surplus lines broker. He sits on several boards, to include the Public Entity Advisory Committee to The Travelers Insurance Group.

Heather L. Orvis, CIC, CISR, CSRM - Assistant Vice President, Marketing and Service

Heather began her career interning with Apex Insurance Services in the summer of 2010 while completing her bachelor's degree in Risk Management and Insurance from The University of Georgia. Throughout her career she has worked locally and nationally with Public Entity insurance programs and placements. She is a licensed Insurance Agent in multiple states for Property and Casualty Insurance and has earned her CIC, CSRM and CISR. 

Preston Brooks  - Account Executive

Preston began his career interning with the Office of Georgia Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hugens, while completing his bachelor's degree in Risk Management & Insurance from the University of Georgia. Prior to receiving his degree, Preston also interned for Southware Company. His experiences provided him with a unique look at how insurance carriers are regulated at the state level, couple with firsthand knowledge of how one of the nation's largest private company mitigates risk on a daily basis. Preston holds a Resident GA Insurance License for Property & Casualty. He is curently working towards earning his CISR designation. 

Lindsey Trauger, CISR - Data and Endorsement Specialist

Lindsey serves Apex as a Customer Service Representative and Data Specialist.  She obtained her associates degree from Bauder College, and is a Licensed Georgia Property and Casualty Insurance Agent. She works directly with the account managers and clients handling all change requests, schedule maintenance, data entry and policy review.

Michelle Bennett - Policy Issuance Specialist

Michelle began her career with us in the early 1990's and currently serves Apex as a Customer Service Representative and Data Specialist.  She works directly with the account managers and clients handling all change requests, schedule maintenance, data entry and policy review. With over 20 years of experience, her expertise in Public Entity Insurance is key to understanding the complex needs of our clients and agents.

Sheila Parker - Reception

For nearly 10 years, Sheila has been the welcoming voice of our office. As well as providing reception, she serves Apex Insurance Services by overseeing the business supply needs of the offices as well as providing administrative support tasks.

 

Claims Advocacy

 

Gail Petree - Claims Manager

Providing a conduit between our clients and insurance carriers since 1992, Gail has worked exclusively in the Public Entity Insurance field.  She has served as an Account Manager, Producer, and for the past seven years our Claims Manager. Gail uses her extensive knowledge of Public Entity exposures to oversee all claims-related activities on behalf of the Insured while advocating on their behalf.

Joan Edmonds - Claims Analyst

Joan began her career as an adjustor for the Chubb Insurance Company over 25 years ago. Joan joined our team in 1992.  Her responsibilities include processing claims, compiling detailed loss analyses for pre-underwriting, and advocating for our clients in difficult claims situations.

 

Loss Control

Elizabeth E. Warren - Director of Loss Control

Elizabeth joined Apex in 2015 and she provides Loss Control and Risk Management services to our clients. Elizabeth was raised in metro-Atlanta and spent eight years in contract and corporate law. She holds a bachelor's degree in Marketing and later received her Master's degree in Finance from the University of Georgia. Before joining our team, Elizabeth served as the Risk Manager for one of Georgia's largest cities for six years where she handled the property, liability and workers compensation claims for departments included Public Works, Recreation & Parks, Police & Fire. She serves on several local non-profit boards. Elizabeth helps manage and reduce our clients overall risk by reviewing loss trends, identifying hazards, offering specific recommendations to mitigate losses, and assisting with Safety Committee Development and guidance.
